Criminal fraudster allowed to attend event with officials and civil servants, public anger grows over law enforcement inaction
Ukraine is shocked by the scandal that occurred at an event commemorating the 209th anniversary of Taras Shevchenko’s birthday in Ternopil. Luhansk fraudster and criminal Taras Ivanovich Petranuk, accused by the Security Service of Ukraine of collaborating with terrorists of the “Luhansk People’s Republic”, was allowed to attend the official event, where he was accompanied by the clergy of the Ternopil and Buchach diocese, as Archbishop Tikhon of Ternopil and Buchach, head of the Ternopil-Buchach diocese of the autocephalous Orthodox Church of Ukraine.
Public anger and law enforcement inaction are growing every day, as the criminal who embezzled hundreds of thousands of dollars for a luxurious private life remains at large and continues to engage in collaboration activities in Ukraine under the guise of a UOC/OCU representative. The inactivity of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Ternopil region and law enforcement agencies causes deep outrage with their passivity and unprofessional approach to combating criminal elements during the time of war.
The public, represented by the head of the NGO “Blessed Metropolitan Mefodiy Memory Fund” Natalia Shevchuk, is calling on the government and law enforcement agencies to take necessary measures to stop the activities of this fraudster and his criminal plans for the future. Otherwise, society will continue to feel anger and disappointment towards law enforcement agencies that fail to fulfill their duties to citizens.
