Metropolitan of the OCU sent a letter to the Archbishop of the Ohrid Archdiocese expressing his joy at the restoration of Eucharistic communion between the churches and readiness to share the joy of participation in the Holy Eucharist. The letter also expresses gratitude and hopes for the acceptance of the Patriarchal and Synodal Tomos on autocephaly. It is noted that all new Local Churches have received blessings for their autocephaly, as the right to this belongs only to the First Throne – the Great Church of Christ in Constantinople.

Metropolitan expresses gratitude and readiness to share the joy of participation

Metropolitan Epiphaniy sent a letter to the head of the Ohrid Archbishopric, Archbishop of Ohrid Stefan, in which he expressed his joy over the restoration of Eucharistic communication between the Orthodox Church of North Macedonia and the Ecumenical Patriarchate. In the letter, the Metropolitan also mentioned his readiness and desire to share the joy of participation in the Holy Eucharist at a time and place that would be conducive to this.

Metropolitan Epiphaniy expressed his gratitude for the understanding and agreement with the Mother Church, the Ecumenical Patriarchate, and noted that the path that the OCU and the Ohrid Archbishopric have taken is the only one based on canonical order and the Tradition of the Church. He also expressed hope and prayers to Almighty God that this path would be completed in due time, but as soon as possible, through the adoption of the Patriarchal and Synodal Tomos on autocephaly.

The letter also noted that all new Local Churches have received the blessing of their autocephaly, as no one can claim the right that belongs only to the First Throne – the Great Church of Christ in Constantinople.
